Fire safety legislation imposes an obligation on an employer to ensure the employees have adequate fire safety training
As an employer you should inform staff on:
  • Provide appropriate information, instruction and training to your employees, when they start their employment as well as periodic refresher training for the lifespan, they are employed by you.
  • Give clear and relevant information on the risks to staff identified within the fire risk assessment.
  • Fire safety prevention measures you have taken to prevent fires and how these measures will protect them should an outbreak of fire occur.
  • Train and instruct staff in your emergency evacuation procedures.

Certified - Fire Safety Awareness

Training is carried out on your premises with timings to generally coincide with your business operations in either the mornings or the afternoon.  All that is required is a quiet room/area, flat screen television and an electrical socket. 

The fire safety awareness course is designed for training in basic fire safety prevention and knowledge, aimed at induction and/or refresher audience (non-specialists; e.g., not for a fire warden/marshal or an appointed person). This course caters for up to 12 persons and will take around 1-1.5 hours.

Certified - Fire Warden / Marshall Training Course       

The role of a fire warden can vary from organization to organization. Although, there are a number of key activities and actions that can typically be found within their responsibilities.  Fire wardens can play a key role in fire safety and prevention, to ensure the safety of the occupants and the building itself. Therefore, providing assistance to meet key requirements of current fire safety legislation.  Fire wardens generally perform two roles non-emergency as well as during an emergency evacuation helping occupants to safely evacuate.  It is important that fire wardens never put their own safety at risk when carrying out their duties. This training caters for up to 12 persons and will take around 2-2.5 hours. 

  • Scottish legislation – Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 & Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006; and its effect on fire safety in premises

This is a popular course which is ideal for anyone who is or will be taking on the role of the fire warden. This is beneficial to the responsible person for safety, as well as a competent person with responsibility for implementing or improving organisational emergency fire evacuation procedures.
